I don't think it'd be your thing judging by what you've said you like. It's really heavy, vocals range from melodic to almost death metal. Go to Amazon and you can click on the song samples.
any opinions? a friend of mine who is into mostly 80's style rock has said this is the best album of the year.
wanting opinions of the cd before I give it a try

Here you go starbuck...

these two videos I like, I just don't know if I like it enought to buy it.
I'll wait and hear the full album but I think it will go more in my catagory of good but not what I'd buy and get my money's worth out of.

thanks, appreciate it. I really like his vocals when he sings but the really heavy growling vocal parts makes me think twice.

have you ever heard of a band called WW III?

I've got their last two albums...love em. It's heavy, sounds kickass, but the lyrics are mostly positive. Howard Jones is a good vocalist. I like him better than their original vocalist. He does melodic vocals and screaming vocals equally well.
Besides that, even their older stuff is great for the feel and the instrumentals. They're exceptionally talented. Can't believe you're just now picking up on them starbuck, seems to me you would have gotten up on them already. They're great.
If I were you, I'd check out their "The End of Heartache" album before delving into the new one. Almost every song on that album is great. "As Daylight Dies" is great too, but there are maybe 1-3 songs out of the 12 I don't really dig.

Here is a Video Clip for WWIII that fans of the power melodic metal vocals will appreciate
YouTube - Mandy Lion's WWIII "Love You To Death"
I think the album came out in 90 and was ahead of its time

I've not heard of that band, sb.
Another band that can be mentioned with K.E. is Shadows Fall. They do an AMAZING cover of Pink Floyd's Welcome To The Machine.
